Cards by Tanya Brown

Several years ago, one of my customers ask me to create a Christmas card, so thinking that this would be a great idea, I made a design and used reduction linocut as the technique for my first card. Half way through the process, I realized that the great amount of time required to produce original cards for retail, would make them prohibitively expensive. Although it was a great learning experience, I decided to search for a process that would allow reasonably priced cards.

Since I already had a part time job working with computers, it seemed only logical that I should try to use the available tools. It didn't take long to realize that the digital toolset was ideal for reproducing my drawings, linocuts, lithographs and etchings in a smaller format that was perfect for greeting cards.

Although I continue to create originals on press and plate, reproduction onto quality paper for greeting cards has been well received by my clientele and I can directly pass on the cost savings.

Please ask about personalizing your card selections.
